Junior Year
Finally accepted into the Mechanical Engineering Department, I no longer needed to stress about my grades and I was able to take upper division ME courses.
I moved out of McMahon Hall and into a house on Greek Row with some of my friends. It was a great experience to be out of the residence halls and have a bit more freedom, and I became much closer with the friends I lived with. There were many times we watched movies, played board games, or cooked together, and it was never lonely. Loneliness had occasionally stalked me my first two years for separate reasons; Freshman year I was just getting acquainted, and Sophomore year I was stressing about my grades, and my roommates were as well. However, the new house environment was also messier. It's hard to keep a house clean when 15 people share it.
The other great thing that happened Junior year is that I really got to know a lot of people in my major. Before, we were all lost in the huge lecture classes, and had other major's mixed in. Now, it was just us. Just the Mechanical Engineers. I continued to make non-engineering friends through Honors and various student clubs, so my friend group remained diverse, but I was starting to finally develop a community within my department, which I loved.
Below are some of the classes I took Junior year, organized by subject. Check them out, or move on to Senior Year!
